With the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), topics such as packaging avoidance, reuse, and resource conservation are moving further into focus. For us, however, these principles are nothing new — they've been part of our everyday work for many years.
As a repair service provider for mobile data entry (MDE) devices, label printers, and industrial electronics, we ship high-quality equipment back to our customers every day. In doing so, we've always followed a simple principle:
As much packaging as necessary — as little as possible
That's why we carefully inspect every carton sent in by customers, clearly assign it to the respective repair order, and keep it until the item is shipped back. If the packaging is still suitable for safe transport, we reuse it. Only when damage or other reasons make that impossible do we use new cartons.
Even for new packaging, we place value on quality and sustainability. That's why we work with an experienced European packaging partner and make sure to use suitable, recyclable packaging solutions.
For us, this is more than just a shipping process. Every successful repair extends the lifespan of high-quality equipment. Responsible handling of packaging materials consistently complements that idea and helps conserve resources and avoid packaging waste.
The new EU Packaging Regulation confirms that we're already on the right track and encourages us to keep pursuing it consistently. At the same time, we use new legal developments as an opportunity to regularly review our processes and further develop them where improvements make sense. Sustainability isn't created by a few big measures — it's the result of many responsible decisions made in day-to-day work.
